SITE: This site is a multi-modal re-survey of an earlier traffic count (see above).
The site is the Tower Park complex, consisting of a Tesco superstore and a number of leisure units.
It is located with two vehicle accesses and a number of other-mode accesses off Yarrow Road, at the
north-eastern edge of Poole. A main road leading north-east out of Poole and south-west into the centre of
town is located next to the site.
A steep slope is situated at the rear of the site, at which there is a steps access.
There are residential areas nearby, with the closest being an area close to the site's western boundary,
across Dorset Way. A hospital is located to the north-east of the site, and a short distance to the north is
open land.

SITE: This site is the Alma Leisure Park.
The site is located just to the south of Chesterfield town centre at the junction of Derby Road and the
A617, which serves as a link road to the M1. Nearby main routes head in all directions including north to
Sheffield, south-east to Mansfield, west towards Macclesfield, and south towards Derby.
The site is a recent development (1998) and includes three eateries, a video rental store, a health & fitness
club, and a multiplex cinema.
The single vehicle access is off Derby Road via a traffic light controlled junction. There is also a pedestrian
access.
To the west of the site, across Derby Road, are industrial works, and rail lines (north and south) are at the
site's eastern boundary.
There are two bus stops close to the site, one on either side of Derby Road.

SITE: This site is the Oberon Retail Park, located on the outskirts of the Derbyshire market town of Belper, close
to the town centre, some 12 kilometres to the north of Derby. The site is off Chapel Street, which heads south out of Belper
The retail park itself includes a Safeway superstore and petrol filling station, a Focus DIY superstore, and a
McDonalds restaurant. This is complimented by an existing building that has been converted into a factory
outlet store. The building also houses a small number of offices that are used by a range of organisations
including Derbyshire Social Services and the British Council of Organisations of Disabled People. The
developments of the superstores occurred in 1998. The building known as de Bradelei House (factory
outlet) existed prior to this. However, it was not converted to its current use until 1994.
The site is located close to the Belper bus station and within walking distance of Belper railway station.
The site has a single vehicle access off the Derby Road/New Road/Chapel Street roundabout.
There are 3 bus stops close to the site, 2 on Derby Road and 1 on Chapel Street.

The is site is adjacent to a housing estate, and is near a bus station, a Tesco superstore and a primary

The site opened in August 1999.

beginning of the M50 motorway (which forms a semi-circle around the city) is also a short distance to the
north-west, heading south-west.
The site is surrounded by various suburban developments.

SITE: This site is Freemen's Park. It was developed in 1997 on the site of the old cattle market, to the south of
Leicester city centre. The site contains a Safeway food superstore and petrol filling station on the eastern
side, and an Odeon cinema and Mecca Bingo on the western side, along with two pubs, a restaurant, and
a Volvo dealership on the site.
Generally access to the site is off Aylestone Road for the leisure activities and off Almond Road and
Freemen's Common Road for the retail activities. Aylestone Road and Freemen's Common Road are both
busy public transport thoroughfares with buses travelling to the southern suburbs of Leicester and to the
city centre. Both these routes are one-way. There are 3 bus stops around the site perimeter (one of which
is inside the site).
Local routes head north into the centre of Leicester, and south/south-east/south-west to the A563 outer ring road of the city.
There are some residential areas to the north-west and south of the site, with a football stadium to the
north-west and a rugby stadium to the north. Train lines (north and south) run to the east of the site.
A pedestrian and cycle route goes through the site.

SITE: This site is Mansfield Leisure Park. It comprises an Odeon cinema, Walkers Bingo, and a McDonalds
restaurant. There is also a Safeway food superstore (with a petrol filling station) off the same roundabout, which is included i
outlets were added in 1997. Other facilities include recycling bins.
The site is situated off Nottingham Road, which is a bus route for destinations south of Mansfield. The road
heads north into the centre of Mansfield and south via the suburbs out of the town and towards
Nottingham. Other nearby main routes head south-west towards Derby and and east towards Newark.
Vehicle access is signal controlled from Nottingham Road. There are also 2 pedestrian access points, one
at the front of the site (off Nottingham Road) and a second at the rear.
Located near the site is a non food retail park comprising MFI, PC World, and Currys. Also, to the
north-west, is Mansfield Town Football Club. There are also some residential streets nearby.
There are 3 bus stops near the site, 1 on either side of Nottingham Lane and the third within the site itself

SITE: This site is located around 2 kilometres to the north of Rotherham town centre in an industrial/commercial
area. The site is located in an area which has been subject to recent redevelopment and is near to the
Retail World shopping area.
It is at the western edge of the A633/A6123 junction. The A633 heads north via Rawmarsh to Swinton,
and south towards the centre of town. The A6123 heads east then south through the areas of
Herringthorpe and Whiston, at the eastern side of Rotherham. The road off which the site is located
(Mangham Road) heads east a short distance to the junction, and west towards Greasbrough.
The residential area of Parkgate is located to the north of the site, with industrial/commercial areas located
to the south, east and west.
There are three bus stops close to the site, all on Mangham Road.

and industrial.
The site is located at the northern edge of Stockton town centre, off a 5-exit roundabout. Nearby main
roads head north towards Billingham, east towards Middlesbrough, west towards Darlington, and south
towards Thornaby-on-Tees. Many A-roads connect at Stockton-on-Tees.
The site has a single access for all modes off Station Street at the site's southern boundary. There is a
second access next to the first, but this is only for Teesside Tyrepower (part of the site at its south-eastern
edge).
There are various developments nearby, including works to the east of the site's boundary (across a
disused railway line), a depot to the north-west (across Norton Road), and some smaller developments
including a school to the south and south-west. Residential areas are also nearby.
