multi-use sites which do not
necessarily meet the definition
of “mixed use”.
The term “mixed use” is
currently a loosely defined
policy objective and is thus
difficult to evaluate using
existing quantitative data.
The research into multi-use
will help inform the debate
regarding the benefits of so-called
mixed use development. It will
also highlight important factors
that development control practitioners
will need to consider when
evaluating development proposals.
The research is based on extensive
analysis using data from the
TRICS® database.
