TRICS® - Understanding Transport Development

TRICS® directly commissions a large annual data collection programme of traffic and multi-modal surveys across all regions of the UK and Ireland, covering a wide variety of development types. We believe this is what makes TRICS® the national standard system of trip generation analysis.

We can also undertake individual TRICS® surveys upon request, as a direct commission from any organisation. Using one of our approved data collection contractors, we would undertake a site visit, produce a survey specification, and deliver a set of survey results to the TRICS® standard. Quotes for surveys at any type of development can be obtained upon request, by contacting the TRICS® Development Team HERE. All quotes will include the input and validation of all survey data.

Organisations can also supply their own TRICS® survey data for inclusion in the database, subject to our standard validation processes being undertaken. Although we do not directly purchase data outside of our annual data collection programme, your survey data meeting the TRICS standard would be of great benefit to your organisation, as it would gain the stamp of approval from the industry’s national system of trip generation analysis. A freely available TRICS® Multi-Modal Methodology document is also available and is updated annually. This document provides guidance in how to undertake a site visit and prepare a survey specification to TRICS® standards.
